Wegovy® (semaglutide) injection is indicated in combination with a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity:
•to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events
(cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, or nonfatal stroke) in adults with established cardiovascular disease and either obesity or overweight
•to reduce excess body weight and maintain weight reduction long term in adults and pediatric patients aged 12 years and older with obesity and adults with overweight in the presence of at least one weight-related comorbidity

Limitations of Use: Wegovy® contains semaglutide. Wegovy Semaglutide Injection (0.25mg) is a prescription medicine for weight management in adults with obesity (BMI ≥30 kg/m²) or overweight (BMI ≥27 kg/m²) with at least one weight related health condition, such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol. • Administration:

Who can use Wegovy®?

Wegovy® Semaglutide Injection (0.25mg) is indicated for adults who meet the following criteria:

• BMI of 30 kg/m² or higher (obesity)
• BMI of 27 kg/m² or higher (overweight) with at least one weight related condition, such as; type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol (dyslipidaemia) & obstructive sleep apnoea.

Who should not use Wegovy®?
Wegovy® is not suitable for individuals who:

• Have a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
• Have a known allergy to semaglutide or any of its ingredients
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding

Wegovy® should be used with caution in individuals with a history of pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, or severe gastrointestinal disorders as these conditions could potentially be aggravated by the medication. A healthcare professional will assess whether Wegovy® is appropriate.

Wegovy® side effects & safety information

Like all medications, Wegovy® may cause side effects. The most commonly reported include:

• Nausea
• Diarrhoea
• Vomiting
• Constipation
• Headache
• Fatigue
